Installation and Configuration

Given the number of models and manufacturers available, it would be difficult to provide step by step instructions for you to follow here.  Read and follow the set up instructions provided by the manufacturer of your wireless networking gear.  You can expect this process to take an hour or two depending on how technically proficient you are.  Here again, I like Linksys because their installation software provides a simple, step by step wizard to help you set up both the access point and the network cards.  Plus, if you choose Linksys, you can call me for phone support help setting up your equipment.  I support other brands on site only, for a fee.

Generally, you connect the Internet or WAN port of the Wireless Access Point to the Ethernet port on your Cable or DSL modem.  Your computer is connected to one of the LAN ports to enable WAP configuration.
